Celtic over the Past Few Weeks

Hows things people, not posted within a while as I've been pretty buys but now lets look back over the past few weeks in our teams season.

We are now back to our 4 point lead over our Glasgow Rivals, after a disappointing result against Aberdeen where our performance defensively was a bit of a shambles, we retain the gap and are looking poised to increase this over the next few weeks.

Limited action in the transfer window, nothing major going on but hopefully this will pick up over the next few days and we can get some fresh faces in.

Result last night against Dundee Utd was a bit tense, an incredible came which was close for both sides, chances gone begging for big Samaras when his heading rattled the crossbar and i hand my head in my hands and was considering "Penalty Shootout" is never my prefered choice.

11-10 AET during the shootout, every single outfield player scoring is a rarity and having your Goalkeeper scoring probably the best penalty of the night is some sight, don't think I've ever seen so many well taken penalty's before but I'm glad we go through and face our bitter rivals in the final on March the 15Th.

January Transfer Window Update

Barcelona midfielder Abraham Gonzalez could be set to depart Camp Nou during the winter transfer window and our club are looking firm favourites to grab his signature.

Gordon Strachan's scouts have been reportedly "keeping an eye" on the 23 year old Gonzalez and have been following his actions but Barca have come out and said ..

Quote from Rafael Anguita - Agent

"Spanish and foreign teams are interested in Abraham. We have not received a firm offer but he is ready to move if the deal is right."

Im not sure if we need another midfield player to battle out in our ranks, i personally feel we need some extra fire power back up front.

Also after Celtic failing to lure Newcastle's hit-kid Andy Carroll, we are ment to be stepping up our interest for Man City's striker Ched Evans. Looks more like a Loan deal rather than a permanent one, but he is a tidy player and can linkup well, played decent for Norwich where he was onloan earlier so i think he will be a good addition to the squad and a good possibility for a future buy.

Scottish Cup

Celtic edged through to the fifth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup with a 2-1 victory over Dundee at Celtic Park last weekend thanks to goals from Scott Brown and Aiden McGeady.

Celtic appeared content to play their way into the game, there initially appeared to be no danger, with Artur Boruc coming out to clear the ball, but the keeper completely missed his kick, swinging at fresh air and allowing the ball to float past him towards an empty net where it was tapped home by McMenamin.

But all was not lost and we held on and we now ease through to the next round with a look at either Peterhead or Queen’s Park who will wander into Celtic Park to face us bhoys.

January Transfer Window

Not much action for the mighty bhoys so far, rumors of Tottenham, Pompey eyeing up a Scott Brown bid.

Italian midfielder Massimo Donati could be set for a January return to his homeland, with hints of Lecce, Atalanta and former employers AC Milan looking for his services.
